Levi's 511 White Bull Denim ($68) + Levi's 513 in Viva White ($68)...don't be scared to get them a little dirty, it's bound to happen and just adds to their vintage appeal. Wear them snug and slim and get ready for the're gonna look sharp. Come see us and we'll get you set up with a sturdy pair of denim meant for those highly anticipated warmer days.

Trivia: The term bull denim is used to describe a slightly heavier weight jean (14oz. plus), produced in a greige (grey or off white and undyed) fabric. Typically, bull denim refers to colored jeans, as the fabric is garment dyed during production or printed.

New in store, Naked & Famous Okayama Spirit jeans.

These beautiful Japanese jeans made with a rare, slub yarn are constructed with the raw denim in its unsanforized state (reference our previous blog post here to find out more about sanforization). The denim is so unique and appealing in its raw form, it is left unwashed to preserve the aesthetic and hand feel. What does this mean for our customers? If you do intend to wash or soak these jeans, be aware they will shrink up to 1" in the waist and up to 2" in length. For those tough enough to forgo washing, buy them snug and wear the hell out of 'em to beat them up just right.

Now for the fun part! Enter today to make the cut off for Naked & Famous' Okayama Spirit fade contest. Send a photo to Naked & Famous of your Okayama Spirit denim, wear for 6 months, and resend images of the unique and beautiful fade you've achieved by wearing these bad boys. For more details and who to get in touch with, click here. If you're the type to never wash your jeans, this is definitely the contest for you. We can't wait to see the final outcome of some great denim fading.

We are very pleased to announce the arrival of Naked & Famous' circular knit t-shirts at Service! These t-shirts are special because they have been woven using vintage circular looms, producing a garment that is one continuous piece of 100% ringspun cotton! There are no seams in the body or the collar, which eliminates the twisting and torquing in your usual t-shirt that occurs after a wash.  And, true to Naked & Famous' dedication to quality, they are manufacturing these shirts at a family-owned factory across from their office in Montreal, Canada! The factory has been producing circular knit garments on the same machines for over 70 years!  Whoa!

As for the fit, the folks at Naked & Famous say, "The fit is a 1950's style Muscle T with fitted short sleeves and of course a tubular body."

Above, the factory in the 1950's!

Stop by Service and pick up this awesome tee in white or indigo (or both!).

Big John was the first ever Japanese denim brand, founded in 1940. Originally, they were a manufacturer of uniforms, but when competitors started using polyester they couldn’t compete and insisted using natural cotton fabrics. So they looked to the USA to see what garments were made of cotton. They found jeans. Originally purchasing their selvedge denim from Cone in the USA, Big John eventually commissioned a Japanese mill to create denim fabric in Japan for the first time ever. The first ever Japanese denim brand, with the first ever Japanese denim, in collaboration with Naked & Famous - available at Service Menswear.

Selvedge Duck Canvas – Old school duck canvas selvedge fabric. Many of you already know that the first jeans made in the late 1800s were made of duck canvas, not denim. This is a selvedge 10oz version. It’s not heavy, but its still a solid jean.
